The African Methodist Episcopal Church, Inc. (AME) is a nonprofit organization which was established in 1787. The AME Church consists of 13 districts in the United States and 7 missionary districts abroad.
The AME Church approves a connectional Church budget at the each General Conference. The General Conference allocates budget assessments to each District based on its economic condition. Expenses are allocated to operating funds for the various causes and services of the Church.
The African Methodist Episcopal Church Finance Department manages both the budget assessments received from various districts and the disbursements to operating funds in accordance with the quadrennial budget adopted at each General Conference.
